Have you ever looked at a product and thought “Where have you been my whole life?” That is what I think when it comes to the new Rubbermaid hidden recycler! We are lucky enough our neighborhood offers recylcing and we take advantage of it. We do our part to help reduce our carbon footprint where we can.

Recycling

But this is what we’ve been doing for years – using a paper or plastic bag from the grocery store, filling it up and then putting it in the bin outside.

What’s the problem with this? This is the view you get when you walk into the kitchen from the side door. No matter how clean the kitchen is, this looks messy and drove me nuts. If we had guests coming over, I’d take it outside and stash it in the bin before they got there.

Besides looking messy – it is also in the way. Between the edge of the counter and the fridge opposite of there, it can get tight if you’re carrying a lot out.

Hidden Recycler

When Rubbermaid sent me this to try I expected it to be much larger. We actually had discussed getting a second trash can for our recycling. I want to note that we’re lucky enough to be in a community that doesn’t require you to sort your recycling!

Hidden Recycler

I didn’t even read the directions to assemble the recycler – I just opened it up and put it together. It was really easy to figure out and self explanatory.

The unit is hung on the back of a cupboard door with two metal hooks. You don’t need tools, or to adhere anything to your cupboards.

I really like that I can close the cupboard door and it’s put away, everything looks clean and put away.  The first time I closed the door I had to open the other door to make it fit nicely. All it took was a simple shifting of the recycler and it fit perfectly.

To say that this product was exactly what we needed and what we were looking for is the absolute truth! I love how the recycling is put away and taken care of. It also holds a ton of product, so it has made it so we have to run it out a lot less. And as an added bonus – it has a leakproof liner, so if something isn’t completely clean when it goes in, you can quickly wash it out!

One more bonus – Rubbermaid is letting me give one of my lucky fans win a Hidden Recycler of their very own – so make sure you Enter to Win!
