THE MAN IN THE WHITE VAN – WORLD PREMIERE – 2023 Newport Beach Film Festival – October 14th

Inspired by a true story, “The Man in the White Van” delves into the eerie underbelly of a seemingly idyllic 1974 Florida town, and follows the harrowing experience of young Annie Williams, a spirited girl whose carefree existence is turned upside down as she becomes stalked by an ominous man in a white van.

The tranquility of Annie’s world, from her love of horseback riding to her leisurely strolls home from school in the nearby woods, begins to crumble as the menacing white van inches closer and closer. As her parents’ skepticism increasingly grows, Annie finds herself psychologically isolated, and on Halloween night her worst fears materialize into a full-blown nightmare as she gets abducted.

The feature debut of director Warren Skeels, “The Man in the White Van” is a gripping exploration of terror, paranoia, and the fragility of security in a place where darkness lurks beneath the surface. Based on actual events of the serial killer Billy Mansfield Jr., the film captures a bone-chilling story of a young girl’s unimaginable horrors, and every parent’s worst nightmare.

THE MAN IN THE WHITE VAN, a Garrison Film and Legion M production, is directed and produced by Warren Skeels. Written by Sharon Y. Cobb and Warren Skeels. Executive Produced by Gary Kompothecras, Michael Nole, Paul Scanlan, Jeff Annison, David Baxter, Sean Astin, and Ali Larter. Produced by Terri Lubaroff and Anne Marie Gillen. Edited by Billy Gaggins. Hulu Original Series “Living for the Dead” – Premiering October 18th

In “Living for the Dead,” five fabulous, queer ghost hunters roam the country, helping the living by healing the dead. Our gay “Ghost Hunties” explore infamous haunted locations while pushing past boundaries with both the living and the deceased.

“It’s so cool and enlivening that me and my best friend CJ Romero had this funny idea and now it’s a show. It started as a bit of a hypothetical silly pipe dream and now I am so proud to have shepherded something that is as moving and meaningful as it is truly a gay old time. Our cast makes me laugh and cry and they had the courage and heart to take us places I wouldn’t go by myself. And it’s a super cool maiden voyage for the company I’ve started with my partners Dylan Meyer and Maggie McLean. This is just the beginning for us and for ‘Living for the Dead.’ We wanna one day have traipsed across the entire spooky ass country. Maybe the world!” – Kristen Stewart

The Enfield Poltergeist – Streaming on AppleTV+ on October 21st

Apple TV+ announced the new four-part documentary series “The Enfield Poltergeist,” which tells the riveting story of the most famous poltergeist haunting in history. Combining more than 250 hours of rare audio archive, meticulous recreation of the setting of the haunting and original interviews with the people impacted by the case, the series is an ambitious genre-bending story that explores the human fascination with the unexplained and its impact on those who live it. All episodes premiere globally on Friday, October 27, 2023.

In 1977, the terrifying haunting of an everyday family in Enfield, London, dominated headlines across the United Kingdom and had a tremendous impact on an entire generation of children. The mysterious case forever changed ideas about the supernatural and that it wasn’t just restricted to castles and stately homes but could be experienced by anyone, anywhere. The chilling story has inspired fictionalized versions of the case, including the film “The Conjuring 2,” a television series and two stage plays.

Throughout four episodes, the events at Enfield are reconstructed using the real recordings captured by Maurice Grosse, a paranormal investigator who archived all of his interviews with those affected by the phenomenon. Building a replica of the house where the incidents took place, performers reenact what is heard on the actual tapes, allowing an interplay by the archival voices and appearances of those originally involved in the incident through present-day interviews.

“The Enfield Poltergeist” is produced for Apple TV+ by MetFilm and Concordia Studio, the producers of Apple’s “STILL: A Michael J. Fox Movie,” this year’s most Emmy-nominated documentary. The series is directed by Jerry Rothwell. Executive producers are Al Morrow, BAFTA winner Stewart le Maréchal, Oscar Award-winning Davis Guggenheim, Jonathan Silberberg and Nicole Stott.

The series is set to premiere on Friday, October 27 globally on Apple TV+.
