Sometimes we need to change things up in the kitchen and try something new. For me, it doesn’t matter what we’re having but I’m a huge fan of recipes that are quick, easy and don’t take a ton of learning curve in order to make them. We are all running around crazy just to make it through the day, there isn’t any reason to make recipes complicated for yourself or ones that take up a lot of time.

I’ve partnered with Ricos Cheese to make a recipe with their products that our whole family could all enjoy. I’m use to enjoying Ricos at the movies with my favorite chips, but I wanted to try something else with the cheese, and make a more savory snack and meal that we would all love. Ricos products are Trans Fat free and made with no hydrogenated oils so I knew going into this it wouldn’t add a ton to my recipe when making it. The cheese sauces are so easy to incorporate in your recipes and the condensed cheddar is twice the amount in one can.

Making these tarts was super easy, and probably the hardest part was finding a gluten free puff pastry, but you can find them at a lot of stores now.

Savory Sausage and Cheese Tarts Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • ricos cheese recipes1 Package Gluten free Puff Pastry – at least 2 sheets
  • 1 lb Mild Italian Sausage
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1 can Ricos Queso Blanco
  • Cherry Tomatoes – cut in halves or quarters

Step 1:

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and prepare your 4 inch tart pans and set them aside. While the pans are non-stick, I’ve found that spraying them with cooking spray helps remove them a lot easier.

Cook your ground Italian Sausage until fully brown. While the sausage is cooking roll out your puff pastry until its the desired thickness. Potato starch or any gluten free flour will make it easier to roll out.

I used the outer part of the tart dish to punch out the blanks to insert in the pans. You can also just cut a circle or square slightly larger than the pan and insert your dough. Set aside.

In a medium bowl mix together your softened cream cheese and your Ricos Queso Blano and mix until smooth.
