Wicked Little Letters - Splatter Event - A Different Way to Vent

Slightly scandalous, but full of laughter – Wicked Little Letters is hitting theaters this weekend. The movie takes you back to a small English seaside village where letters full of profanities are showing up and upsetting residents. Blame is tossed around the village until the actual culprit is caught. This movie full of colorful insults brings back a post-World War I true-crime mystery that will have you laughing along the way.

To celebrate Wicked Little Letters hitting theaters this weekend Sony Picture Classics invited us to check out Splatter in Ferndale – a safe (and less insulting) way to take out some of our stress and anger by creating our own unique works of art. With brushes, paint guns, squirt bottles, and more – everyone had an hour to create their own canvas that wouldn’t put any of us in jail (hopefully).

Splatter was the perfect way to relax, unwind, and get out any repressed energy or emotions. But if you’re looking for a way to laugh the evening away, and to let go in another way, you’re going to love checking out Wicked Little Letters at the theater.

A 1920’s seaside town bears witness to a farcical and occasionally sinister scandal in this riotous mystery comedy. Based on a stranger than fiction true story, WICKED LITTLE LETTERS follows two neighbors: deeply conservative local Edith Swan (Olivia Colman) and rowdy Irish migrant Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley). When Edith and fellow residents begin to receive wicked letters full of unintentionally hilarious profanities, foul-mouthed Rose is charged with the crime. The anonymous letters prompt a national uproar, and a trial ensues. However, as the town’s women-led by Police Office Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan) – begin to investigate the crime themselves, they suspect that something is amiss, and Rose may not be the culprit after all.
