If you’re sick of the same ol’ same ol’ when you’re going out to eat with your friends and family, you’re in luck! Granite City is opening a second location in the Metro Detroit area (with a third coming this fall). While some of the menu may look familiar – Granite City offers meals, drinks and more that is a step above other restaurants in the same category.
We were invited to check out the newest Granite City location in Northville this weekend before their opening next Tuesday. Having one other location in Michigan, I wasn’t familiar with Granite City before our visit so I had to check out their menu before we visited. The first thing I was pleased to see was not just a few gluten free items, but a full gluten free menu. With the prospect of burgers on (gluten free) buns, appetizers, actually meals, desserts and cocktails – visiting Granite City sounded like a delicious way to spend our afternoon.
Our visit to Granite City started with tastings of their locally made beers, a tour of the new restaurant and tasting of their appetizers. The overall feeling of the restaurant was comfortable, and welcoming with a bit of rustic elements throughout. Lighting in the bar area is done with older tube style lighting and the space is decorated with branded growlers and wine bottles that you can enjoy with your meals. While the decor over all towards the sophisticated and an older audience, Granite City is a family friendly restaurant. Besides having a children’s menu that offers real meal options for your kids to enjoy as well as some of their favorites. And since they expect families to come and enjoy the restaurant, they even offer family bathroom options and changing tables in both the men and women’s bathroom.
On site, Granite City brews their own seasonal drafts fresh. The beer is carefully monitored and goes directly from the stainless steel drums to the tap for you to get it as fresh as possible. Freshness is the main theme throughout Granite City, and doesn’t just apply to their beer. Instead, it is one of their main goals when it comes to anything made in their restaurant. All of their meals are prepared fresh with whole ingredients. This allows them to customize your meal to your liking, when you order it. It is also great for if you have dietary restrictions or have a picky eater. This allows the restaurant to offer their guests the most customized meal for their lunch and dinner.
Design and meal aside, Granite City took a lot of consideration into their restaurant. From customize-able meals, a family friendly setting, to affordable lunch portions that have a quicker turn around during your busy lunch hour – Granite City offers a delicious escape from the boring options we’ve had until now.
You don’t have to take my word for it, Granite City wants to give one of my readers a $25 Gift Card! This Midwest restaurant chain is growing, and you can enjoy one near you. We’ve paired up with Metro Detroit Parents so there will be two winners!
