Life is messy, and sometimes it throws things at you, you wouldn’t expect. There are times that the advice and talks with friends and family wont help you as much as you’d like, and it’s time to go to a professional. When legal problems arise, where do you go and who do you go to?
We’re not legal professionals so unfortunately we’re not the people you should go to for advice but we know when life has dealt us the cards that require legal help. We’ve had to find attorneys in the past for business and personal issues, and there were some things we would suggest if you’re looking for someone to help you out.
There are several places you can find legal help, including in the yellow pages, google and of course your State Bar Legal Referral Services. Search of course for the type of legal service you need or would like provided. The Legal Referral Services will connect you with one or multiple attorneys that can help you with your case, your contracts and more.
Don’t be afraid to walk away from the first attorney you talk to – they may not be a good fit. You’ll know instantly during your consultation if it is a good match with the attorney, or if you want to continue your search. Having a good relationship with your attorney is what can provide you with the trust you need to confide in them for your case, or to get the legal assistance you need. If you don’t feel that the attorney is a good fit, or they don’t think they can assist you – be sure to ask for a referral.
If you’re worried about the cost of your case or legal needs, be sure to be open with the attorney right away about your budget. Some law firms offer probono or contingency cases – where cases are paid if you win, or a percentage of your settlement is their payment. Not every attorney offers that option, but if funds are limited its best to be up front and to find someone who will work within your budget and needs.
It doesn’t matter what type of legal help you’re looking for finding the right person for your case is important. Be sure to find an attorney that focuses on your divorce, a personal injury attorney (Tampa), estate lawyer or even defense attorney. With their years of education and expertise you will get the help you need hopefully the legal results you hope for.
