Every relationship has it’s issues, but what if they weren’t the ones that you could easily recognize? In the all new film All I See Is You, which is billed as a psychological drama – you follow the story of a blind woman Gina and her husband James as their relationship changes once Gina is given a surgery that restores her sight in one eye.
The movie takes place in Thailand, as well as parts of Spain and is visually stunning. With beautiful scenery and a lot of graphic scenes that simulate what Gina is experiencing without eye sight. But the trailer makes the movie almost seem like a big of a psychological thriller, and almost a horror film where it almost implies that Gina is possessed by something and the changes are a lot darker than you’d expect.
But what is really happening here? While yes, after her life changing surgery, Gina does exhibit some changes in her personality -they can easily be explained as the freedom she found now that she can see again. With a few scenes that seem to graphically depict her visually different. The changes she does show, her husband James reacts negatively to and his dependency on her being blind so he can control their relationship.
The movie highlights issues that both Gina and James have in the relationship and how they’re both at a power play in their relationship. While it it is interesting to watch unfold in the movie, there are times that the movie is slower and struggles to keep your interest. It is not really a thriller, but more a love story gone wrong with a beautiful visual platform.
