No One Will Save You – On Hulu September 22nd
AN INVASION IS IMMINENT, according to Brian Duffield, who wrote and directed 20th Century Studios’ “No One Will Save You,” a sci-fi psychological thriller told through the eyes of a lonely young woman with a painful backstory. “I wanted the movie to take the lead of a small intimate character study and drop an alien invasion on top of them,” says Duffield. “The end of the world won’t only be for those that are ready for it, and the idea of an alien movie rudely bursting the bubble our character has spent years building and cultivating felt like a unique way to tell a favorite story.”
Duffield set out to create a character so compelling, viewers would want to learn more about her with or without aliens. Unfortunately for her, he says, they show up about eight minutes into the movie. “I think there’s a deeply buried feeling that every alien invasion movie could turn out to be true because they remain such an unknown in our daily lives. As our world careens more and more out of control, maybe there’s even a desire that there’s something out there smarter than us that can help put us on a more sane path. The aliens in ‘No One Will Save You’ are superior to humans in every way, which makes Brynn and her surprising resistance somewhat puzzling to them.”
Kaitlyn Dever stars as Brynn, who’s a formidable fighter when it comes to her unwelcome and unearthly intruders. Duffield believes the actor is one of the best of her generation. “We were so excited to have Kaitlyn join us because—like Brynn being thrust into a whole new world—Kaitlyn had never done a movie so aggressively physical and sci-fi before,” he says. “I think audiences will be blown away by how commanding Kaitlyn is on screen as she uses her solitude and silence to create a truly unique and complex character.”
“No One Will Save You” is Duffield’s sophomore film—he wrote, produced and directed 2020’s “Spontaneous,” an adaptation of Aaron Starmer’s young adult novel starring Katherine Langford and Charlie Plummer that’s Certified Fresh (96%) on Rotten Tomatoes. Duffield most recently produced “Cocaine Bear,” directed by Elizabeth Banks for Universal, as well as the upcoming “Borderline,” directed by Jimmy Warden.
From 20th Century Studios, “No One Will Save You” is an action-packed face-off between Brynn and a host of extraterrestrial beings who threaten her future while forcing her to deal with her past. Written and directed by Brian Duffield, the film features music by composer Joseph Trapanese. Tim White, Trevor White, Allan Mandelbaum and Duffield produce; Dever and Joshua Throne executive produce. “No One Will Save You” begins streaming on Sept. 22, 2023, exclusively on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ in all other territories.

MTV Documentary Films has set October 6th as the theatrical release for the deeply moving, visual and music-filled film – A SONG FILM BY KISHI BASHI: “OMOIYARI.” The film received rave reviews at the SXSW FILM FESTIVAL and is directed by acclaimed director Justin Taylor Smith and musician/composer/filmmaker Kaoru Ishibashi. It is produced by JJ Gerber and Jim Angelo and executive produced by Ryan Suffern, Jenny Mills and MTV Documentary Films’ Executive Producer Sheila Nevins with music by Kishi Bashi.
In A SONG FILM BY KISHI BASHI: “OMOIYARI,” internationally acclaimed composer and songwriter K Ishibashi (professionally known as “Kishi Bashi”) embarks on a personal quest by creating his music in locations relevant to the Japanese American Incarceration during WWII. It is on this journey in which Kishi Bashi comes to terms with his own Japanese American identity and uncovers a myriad of social issues that have gripping modern relevance. OMOIYARI is a genre breaking, artistic exploration that fuses history, music, and the complexities of the human condition.
Kishi Bashi (K) had been commissioned by Nu Deco Ensemble to create a multimedia piece surrounding Executive Order 9066. He and co-director Smith started to film K’s musical improvisations at these historical Japanese American incarceration camps across the US, with the original vision of making a behind-the-scenes short film. However, what transpired with the up-close and personal filming and intimate performances became this emotional and beautiful feature documentary that has now become a “song film.”
“This release of A SONG FILM BY KISHI BASHI: “OMOIYARI” is the culmination of a six-year artistic project that was an experimental blend of music, history, and social justice documentary filmmaking,” says director/composer/musician Kishi Bashi. “Calling it a ‘Song Film, ’ we began by documenting a musical and historical research journey. But, in time this unfolded into a transformative dive into my own personal minority identity and painting a broad survey of the Japanese American experience, from immigration to incarceration, generational struggles with assimilation, and the compassion and healing that we hope will resonate with anybody who has been otherized. ‘Omoiyari’ is a Japanese word about having that empathy and compassion for another person that is necessary for diversity and inclusivity. We are so proud to be able to contribute to the dynamic conversations that are taking place in this country right now. And partnering with MTV Documentary Films is a perfect match for us and the film to reach people.”
“We wanted an audience to learn the story of Japanese American incarceration through a new lens, through K’s musical journey and from the people whose lives were uprooted and changed forever,” further adds co-director Justin Taylor Smith. “The goal was to connect viewers emotionally to the story through strong visuals and music, to cultivate empathy, and to go beyond the cliff-note version of this atrocity that they may have learned in grade school history books. Kaoru’s music is incredibly emotional. When we first started production, we started naturally by shooting scenes at what’s left of the 10 camps. There’s not much left of them today but dust, dirt, sagebrush and in some cases just a small memorial. Filming K improvise new songs at these locations, seeing him connect with that past trauma to create music on the spot was powerful. I knew in those early moments that those scenes would become the backbone of the film.”
“Kishi Bashi created an unusual music documentary born from his awareness of the Japanese incarceration camps of 1942,” says Executive Producer Sheila Nevins. “His music helps him find his place as a Japanese American. The music talks about sorrow, redemption, and self-discovery.”
A SONG FILM BY KISHI BASHI: “OMOIYARI” will open theatrically on October 6 in select cities including New York and Los Angeles with performances by Kishi Bashi at planned screenings. A national roll out will continue throughout the fall. In addition, planned screenings/performance tours with Kishi Bashi will also be starting at the end of October along with the release of the film’s soundtrack.
A SONG FILM BY KISHI BASHI: “OMOIYARI” will serve as a special screening at the upcoming Woodstock Film Festival this coming September 30 in Woodstock, NY.

RUDY – FEATURING AN ALL-NEW DIRECTOR’S CUT DEBUTING ON 4K ULTRA HD November 14th
All his life, people have told Rudy he’s not good enough, not smart enough, not big enough. But nothing can stop his impossible dream of playing football for Notre Dame. From the time he’s a young boy, Rudy (Sean Astin) is determined to join the Fighting Irish. But his blue collar family only laughs at his ambitions – they know Rudy will follow his father and brothers to the local steel mill. And, for four long years after high school, he does just that. But some dreams won’t die, as Rudy proves when he goes to heroic, occasionally hilarious, lengths to win admission to Notre Dame. Once there, he becomes a walk-on player, serving as little more than a human tackling dummy against the starting players. Bloodied but unbeaten, Rudy wins the respect of legendary coach Ara Parseghian and the other Irish players, who give him one shot at gridiron glory. An incredible true story from the creators of Hoosiers, RUDY is an unforgettable testament to the power of dreams and the triumph of the common man.

Apple TV+’s “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” Teaser Trailer – Streaming November 17th
Apple TV+ unveiled the first teaser for “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters,” and shared that the highly anticipated ten-episode series will premiere globally on Friday, November 17. Based on Legendary’s Monsterverse, and starring Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” will debut with the first two episodes, followed by one episode every Friday through January 12.
Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco, and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga – spanning three generations – reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.
Hailing from Legendary Television, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” is co-developed and executive produced by Chris Black and Matt Fraction. Matt Shakman directs the first two episodes and serves as executive producer alongside Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell from Safehouse Pictures, Andy Goddard, Brad Van Arragon, and Andrew Colville. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita executive produce on behalf of Toho Co., Ltd., the owner of the Godzilla character. Toho licensed the rights to Legendary for “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” as a natural byproduct of their long-term relationship with the film franchise.
Legendary Entertainment’s Monsterverse is an epic entertainment universe of interconnected stories that bring together popular culture’s most titanic forces of nature. Witness humanity’s greatest battle for survival as we fight for our world in the face of a catastrophic new reality—the monsters of our myths and legends are real. Beginning in 2014 with Godzilla and continuing with 2017’s “Kong: Skull Island,” 2019’s “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” and 2021’s “Godzilla vs. Kong,” the Monsterverse has accumulated close to two billion dollars globally at the box office and is ever-expanding, with the highly anticipated sequel “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.”
The Bikeriders Arrives in U.S. Theaters on December 1st
20th Century Studios released the trailer and poster for the upcoming feature film, “The Bikeriders.” “The Bikeriders,” written and directed by Jeff Nichols, was screened last week at the Telluride Film Festival to critical acclaim.
Sheri Linden of the Hollywood Reporter comments, “From beginning to end, the visual beauty of the film pays tribute to the source material….” The Playlist’s Gregory Ellwood writes, “Nichols has crafted a highly entertaining period piece on a legendary biker club that is at times sexy, funny, and filled with fisticuffs.” Matt Neglia, reporting for Next Best Picture, offers, “‘The Bikeriders’ is an evocative and masculine piece of storytelling.” Deadline’s Pete Hammond wrote, “This ensemble cast is superb all around,” in describing the performances led by Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve,” “The Last Duel”), Austin Butler (“Elvis”) and Tom Hardy (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “The Revenant”).
The cast, most of whom did their own riding on an array of period-correct bikes, also includes Michael Shannon (“Bullet Train”), Mike Faist (“West Side Story”), Boyd Holbrook (“Logan”) and Norman Reedus (“The Walking Dead”). From writer-director Jeff Nichols (“Loving,” “Midnight Special,” “Mud”), 20th Century Studios and New Regency, “The Bikeriders” is a furious drama following the rise of a fictional 1960s Midwestern motorcycle club through the lives of its members. Inspired by Danny Lyon’s iconic book of photography,“The Bikeriders” immerses you in the look, feel, and sounds of the bare-knuckled, grease-covered subculture of ’60s motorcycle riders. Kathy (Comer), a strong-willed member of the Vandals who’s married to a wild, reckless bikerider named Benny (Butler), recounts the Vandals’ evolution over the course of a decade, beginning as a local club of outsiders united by good times, rumbling bikes, and respect for their strong, steady leader Johnny (Hardy). Over the years, Kathy tries her best to navigate her husband’s untamed nature and his allegiance to Johnny, with whom she feels she must compete for Benny’s attention. As life in the Vandals gets more dangerous, and the club threatens to become a more sinister gang, Kathy, Benny and Johnny are forced to make choices about their loyalty to the club and to each other. Sarah Green, p.g.a., Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, p.g.a. and Arnon Milchan are the producers. Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Sam Hanson, David Kern and Fred Berger are the executive producers.
Next up, “The Bikeriders” will screen at the London Film Festival, which runs from October 4-15. “The Bikeriders” opens in U.S. theaters on December 1.
