Courtesy of National Archives and Records Administration Combining the first-person accounts of Holocaust witnesses and survivors and interviews with leading historians and writers, “The U.S. and the Holocaust” dispels competing myths that Americans either were ignorant of the unspeakable persecution that Jews and other targeted minorities faced in Europe or that they looked on with callous indifference. The film tackles a range of questions that remain essential to our society today, including how racism influences policies related to immigration and refugees, as well as how governments and people respond to the rise of authoritarian states that manipulate history and facts to consolidate power.
PONY BOYS ACQUIRED BY NEW YORK TIMES OP-DOCS

Following a successful film festival circuit across the country, PONY BOYS, directed by Eric Stange, has been acquired by The New York Times Op-Docs, the prestigious award-winning series of short subject documentaries. The film will debut on the website (nytimes.com) and The New York Times YouTube page next Tuesday, September 27.
PONY BOYS is a delightful and improbable story about parenting, childhood and adventure in a time not so long ago. Two young Massachusetts brothers – ages 9 and 11 – set off on an ambitious journey with their family pet, a Shetland pony named King, in the summer of 1967. Tony and Jeff Whittemore were desperate to visit Expo ’67 in Montreal – the largest World’s Fair ever. But their parents couldn’t take them. Then Mom came up with the solution: hitch King to a pony cart and drive 350 miles to Expo ’67 – on their own – at 5 m.p.h.!
PONY BOYS director Eric Stange is a Boston-based, independent documentary director and producer of films about issues of social justice, health and equity, social activism and political and cultural history. Broadcast venues for Stange’s films include PBS, the BBC, and The Discovery Channel. Among his recent films: EDGAR ALLAN POE: BURIED ALIVE for American Masters (PBS); ACTIVIZED – a profile of first-time pollical activists; THE WALL and AFTER THE WALL– a two-part series about modern Germany; and MURDER AT HARVARD, a historical who-dunnit.
Stange said: “As a documentary filmmaker the story struck me as pure gold. It raises so many questions that are as urgent today as ever. What constitutes good parenting, and how can we teach children resilience, capability, imagination and resolve?”

This is Laurie Strode’s last stand.
After 45 years, the most acclaimed, revered horror franchise in film history reaches its epic, terrifying conclusion as Laurie Strode faces off for the last time against the embodiment of evil, Michael Myers, in a final confrontation unlike any captured on-screen before. Only one of them will survive.
Icon Jamie Lee Curtis returns for the last time as Laurie Strode, horror’s first “final girl” and the role that launched Curtis’ career. Four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn’t been seen since. Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell; The Hardy Boys, Virgin River), is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all.
Halloween Ends co-stars returning cast Will Patton as Officer Frank Hawkins, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace and James Jude Courtney as The Shape.
From the creative team that relaunched the franchise with 2018’s Halloweenand Halloween Kills, the film is directed by David Gordon Green from a screenplay by Paul Brad Logan (Manglehorn), Chris Bernier (The Driverseries), Danny McBride and David Gordon Green, based on characters created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill.
