THE KILLER’S GAME | New Trailer – In Theaters Now

In the new action-comedy THE KILLER’S GAME, when top hitman Joe Flood (Dave Bautista) is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he decides to take matters into his own hands – by taking a hit out on himself. Where’s Wanda? – Premieres on AppleTV+ On October 2nd

Apple TV+ unveiled the trailer for “Where’s Wanda?,” the eight-episode German-language dark comedy, produced by UFA Fiction, stars International Emmy Award nominee Heike Makatsch (“Love Actually”), German Comedy Award winner Axel Stein (“The Vault”), multiple award-winning actress Lea Drinda (“The Gryphon”), newcomer Leo Simon, entrepreneur, actress and author Nikeata Thompson (“How to Dad”), presenter and actress Palina Rojinski (“Welcome to Germany”), Kostja Ullmann (“My Blind Date With Life”) and rising star Harriet Herbig-Matten (“Maxton Hall”). Apple TV+’s first German original will premiere globally with the first two episodes on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, followed by one episode weekly through November 13.

“Where’s Wanda?” tells the story of Dedo and Carlotta Klatt (Stein and Makatsch), who are desperate to locate their missing 17-year-old daughter Wanda (Drinda), who disappeared months ago without a trace. When the police fail to find her, the family takes matters into their own hands, obtaining surveillance devices with the help of their tech-savvy son Ole (Simon). Disguising themselves as employees of an electrical company, they bug first their neighborhood and then half their suburb, finding out that behind closed doors none of their neighbors are who they pretend to be.

The series also features Devid Striesow (“All Quiet on the Western Front”), Jasmin Shakeri (“The Magic Flute”) and Joachim Król (“The Most Desired Man”).

HOUSE OF SPOILS | Releases Globally on Prime Video on Thursday, October 3rd

Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose stars as “Chef” in this genre-bending thriller that explores the chaos she encounters both in and out of the kitchen.

This is the second feature film from Writers-Directors Bridget Savage Cole & Danielle Krudy. They previously co-directed Blow the Man Down.

House of Spoils continues a collaboration forged by Amazon MGM Studios and Blumhouse Television in 2019.

Food stylist Zoe Hegedus consulted on the film. Her previous credits include Midsommar, Poor Things, Dune: Part 1 and Dune: Part 2. She specializes in creating food for movies, TV series, immersive eating experiences, food installations and edible tablescapes.

NEW WAVE – Opens Exclusively in New York On October 4th

The acclaimed documentary NEW WAVE has announced the first set of theatrical opening cinemas today and is set to open in New York at DCTV’s Firehouse Cinema beginning October 4. The film will open in select cities nationally throughout this fall. Director Elizabeth Ai and very special guests will be at select screenings for conversations following.

NEW WAVE explores the musical phenomenon of the 1980s known to Vietnamese American teens as New Wave. The filmmaker, Elizabeth Ai, dives into the lives of family members and icons of the New Wave scene, and uncovers much more than a rich musical history. In the heart of Orange County, California, this counterculture movement takes the youth by storm, becoming a sanctuary for rebellious teens. The fun Euro-synth dance beats and punk/goth aesthetics mask deep traumas—broken dreams and unfulfilled expectations that have shaped her community.

The joyful memories of her uncles and aunts sneaking out to this underground scene clash with her own painful childhood, haunted by her mother’s abandonment. As the filmmaker digs deeper, the excavation becomes an emotional journey, unraveling mysteries that touch on cultural identity, generational trauma, and the Vietnam War’s lasting impact. The exploration transforms from a love letter to her community into a cathartic process for the filmmaker. By confronting these buried emotions, the film takes us on a soulful journey that binds wounds and offers new beginnings.

“Each time I looked into my daughter’s eyes while the filmmaking process unfolded, the importance to share our story intensified,” states director Ai. “I was determined to bridge past and present for her.
