JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH | Now In Theaters
A new era is born. This summer, three years after the Jurassic World trilogy concluded with each film surpassing $1 billion at the global box office, the enduring Jurassic series evolves in an ingenious new direction with Jurassic World Rebirth.
Anchored by iconic action superstar Scarlett Johansson, Emmy and SAG nominee Jonathan Bailey and two-time Oscar® winner Mahershala Ali, this action-packed new chapter sees an extraction team race to the most dangerous place on Earth, an island research facility for the original Jurassic Park, inhabited by the worst of the worst that were left behind.
Also starring acclaimed international stars Rupert Friend and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, the film is directed by dynamic visualist Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) from a script by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp.
Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.
Academy Award® nominee Johansson plays skilled covert operations expert Zora Bennett, contracted to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure the genetic material. When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on a forbidden island that had once housed an undisclosed research facility for Jurassic Park. There, in a terrain populated by dinosaurs of vastly different species, they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that has been hidden from the world for decades.
Ali is Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s most trusted team member; Critics Choice and Olivier Award winner Jonathan Bailey (Wicked, Bridgerton) plays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis; Emmy nominee Rupert Friend (Homeland, Obi-Wan Kenobi) appears as Big Pharma representative Martin Krebs and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer, Murder on the Orient Express) plays Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked civilian family.
The cast includes Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty) and Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs. Lopez) as Reuben’s family. The film also features, as members of Zora and Krebs’ crews, Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF) and Ed Skrein (Deadpool).
Jurassic World Rebirth is directed by BAFTA winner Edwards from a script by Koepp (War of the Worlds), based on characters created by Michael Crichton. The film is produced by Oscar® nominee Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, both longtime Jurassic franchise producers and of last summer’s blockbuster, Twisters. The film is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart and Jim Spencer.

JAWS: 50TH ANNIVERSARY | Experience it in IMAX August 28th & 29th
Universal Pictures is proud to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jaws, Steven Spielberg’s Academy Award®–winning thriller that redefined the theatrical experience and remains one of the most influential films in cinema history. On August 29, the film returns to theaters nationwide in stunning 4K, with select screenings in IMAX®, RealD 3D, 4DX and D-BOX, offering audiences the chance to experience the original summer blockbuster as never before.
Released on June 20, 1975, Jaws became a box office sensation and a cultural tidal wave. It was the first film in history to surpass $100 million at the domestic box office and helped usher in the era of the wide-release blockbuster. Its success redefined the studio release model and established the summer season as Hollywood’s premiere showcase for event films.
For Spielberg—who had made his feature debut the year prior with The Sugarland Express—Jaws marked a pivotal ascent. The film cemented his place among the defining filmmakers of his generation, and his mastery of suspense, character and visual storytelling would shape the trajectory of American filmmaking for decades to come.
At age 27, Spielberg approached Jaws with both ambition and restraint. When the production’s mechanical shark, nicknamed Bruce, repeatedly malfunctioned, Spielberg leaned into the power of suggestion, building dread through careful composition, editing and sound. The result was a new cinematic language for thrillers—one defined as much by what is unseen as by what is revealed.
Jaws was nominated for four Academy Awards®, including Best Picture, and won three: Best Film Editing, Best Sound, and Best Original Score for John Williams’ now-legendary theme. The film marked an early milestone in Spielberg’s partnership with Williams, whose collaboration would come to define the emotional and musical architecture of modern film.
Adapted from Peter Benchley’s bestselling novel, Jaws follows the residents of Amity Island as a series of attacks by a great white shark threatens the summer tourist economy—prompting the town’s police chief (Oscar® nominee Roy Scheider), a young marine biologist (Oscar®winner Richard Dreyfuss) and a grizzled shark hunter (Oscar® nominee Robert Shaw) to venture into open waters to confront the predator head-on. The film also starred Lorraine Gary, Murray Hamilton, Carl Gottlieb and Jeffrey Kramer. The screenplay was written by Benchley and Gottlieb. Jaws was produced by Oscar® winner Richard D. Zanuck and Oscar®nominee David Brown, with cinematography by Oscar® nominee Bill Butler and editing by Oscar® winner Verna Fields.
“Few films have had the kind of enduring impact Jaws has had,” said Jim Orr, President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution for Universal Pictures. “It was a cultural event when it debuted in 1975, and its impact continues to resonate with every generation of moviegoers. We’re proud to bring it back to theaters in the most dynamic formats available, where audiences can once again experience the full power of this enduring classic, exactly as it was meant to be seen.”
Tickets for the 50th anniversary re-release are on sale now and can be purchased here.
The theatrical re-release of Jaws is part of a global celebration honoring the film’s 50-year legacy. Additional tributes include Jaws: The Exhibition, opening September 14 at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures; themed experiences at Universal Studios theme parks around the world; a commemorative 50th anniversary merchandise collection; and streaming availability on Peacock beginning this summer.
Tickets are now on sale for the 50th anniversary re-release of Jaws, including first showtimes on Thursday, August 28th at 4pm (local time).
When the seaside community of Amity finds itself under attack by a dangerous great white shark, the town’s chief of police (Roy Scheider), a young marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a grizzled shark hunter (Robert Shaw) embark on a desperate quest to destroy the beast before it strikes again. Featuring an unforgettable score that evokes pure terror, Jaws remains one of the most influential and gripping adventures in motion picture history.
