A Stage of Twilight – Debuts on VOD April 26th
Cardinal Flix, the independent production company founded by Sarah T. Schwab and Brian Long, today announced its latest film, “A Stage of Twilight,” will be available to stream on demand beginning on April 26, 2024. The release comes on the heels of the film’s successful festival circuit, during which it received accolades including Official Selection at Sonoma International Film Festival, Big Apple Film Festival, Calgary International Film Festival, The Santa Fe Film Festival and more. The film is also wrapping its limited theater run throughout the U.S this month.
Written and directed by Sarah T. Schwab and produced by Brian Long, “A Stage of Twilight” is a love story set in the final chapter of Cora and Barry’s lives. When Barry is confronted with a terminal diagnosis, he is compelled to make a decision that his wife cannot support. Hollywood Con Queen Streaming on AppleTV+ May 8th
A mysterious figure dubbed the ‘Con Queen’ impersonates the industry’s most powerful women, luring unsuspecting victims to Indonesia with the promise of a life-changing career opportunity. The ‘Con Queen’s marks exhaust their personal finances in pursuit of a big break, while being exploited in a perverse psychological game spanning the globe. The Big Cigar premiering globally on AppleTV+ May 17th
Apple TV+ revealed the trailer for “The Big Cigar,” the upcoming limited series led by André Holland, who stars alongside Alessandro Nivola, Tiffany Boone, PJ Byrne, Marc Menchaca, Moses Ingram, Rebecca Dalton, Olli Haaskivi, Jordane Christie, and Glynn Turman. “The Big Cigar” makes its global debut on May 17 with the first two episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday through June 14.
Based on the magazine article of the same name by Joshuah Bearman (“Argo”), who also serves as executive producer, “The Big Cigar” tells the incredible true story of Hollywood revolution meeting social revolution. It’s a wild caper about Black Panther founder Huey P. Newton escaping from the FBI to Cuba with the assistance of famed producer Bert Schneider in an impossibly elaborate plan – involving a fake movie production – that goes wrong every way it possibly can.
NAACP Image Award winner Janine Sherman Barrois (“Claws,” “Self-Made”) is the showrunner of “The Big Cigar.” Executive Producer Jim Hecht (“Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty”) penned the show’s first episode. The series hails from Warner Bros. Television, where Sherman Barrois and her Folding Chair Productions are under an overall deal. Sherman Barrois and Hecht are executive producing alongside Bearman, Joshua Davis and Arthur Spector (“Little America”) through their production company Epic.

Trying returns to AppleTV+ for season 4 on May 22nd
Apple TV+ unveiled the trailer for season four of its heartwarming, critically acclaimed comedy series “Trying,” starring BAFTA Award-nominee Esther Smith and SAG Award-nominee Rafe Spall. “Trying” will return for its eight-episode fourth season of on Wednesday, May 22 on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through July 3.
In this exciting new season, we fast-forward six years, discovering that Nikki (Smith) and Jason (Spall) are experienced adopters having built a lovely little nuclear family, enriched by an extraordinary support network. However, as their teenage daughter, Princess (Scarlett Rayner), starts to yearn for a connection with her birth mother, Nikki and Jason find themselves confronted with the ultimate test of their parenting skills.
