Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl Review
Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. Aardman's four-time Academy Award®-winning director Nick Park and Emmy Award-nominated Merlin Crossingham return with a brand new epic adventure, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. In this next instalment, Gromit’s concern that Wallace is becoming too dependent on his inventions proves justified, when Wallace invents a “smart” gnome, Norbot, that seems to develop a mind of its own. When it emerges that a vengeful figure from the past might be masterminding things, it falls to Gromit to battle sinister forces and save his master… or Wallace may never be able to invent again! Since 1989 Wallace & Gromit have been wowing fans with their stop-animation movies and stories. This year, the new year is kicking off with the release of the latest chapter in their story. And this time, it’s more than just quirky inventions to help the duo out, we see an old foe make a return which may put everyone at risk.

Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl follows the inventor Wallace and his dutiful dog, together still after three decades. When Wallace creates a new gardening robot, Norbot, he wants nothing more than to make life more automated – to the detriment of himself and even Gromit. Everything has to be uniform and set a certain way, and there’s no room for creativity or even emotion. And the introduction of Norbot pushed the two apart even more as it tests Gromits patients and he starts to question if he’s even has a place there anymore.

And if things couldn’t get worse, an old foe Feathers McGraw (last seen in The Wrong Trousers film) makes a silent comeback causing even more problems for both Wallace and Gromit.

Of course, you can expect silly antics, minimal dialogue, and some fun animation to happen in the film. And really, it’s going to be everything that fans of the previous films will expect and love. But unless you’re already a devoted fan of the characters and the previous films, it can be a bit of a struggle to get through. It’s silly and has slapstick antics – and if that’s not your style, it isn’t going to be a movie that you’re going to want to watch again.

Compared to the current offerings in theaters and recently released, this movie isn’t going to keep the attention of younger viewers. Instead, it’s probably being released for the kids who have grown up watching and loving the films. And while inherently there is nothing wrong with that, for everyone else – thankfully it’s getting a streaming release so you can pause it and come back to it maybe later.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl premieres globally on Netflix, this Friday, January 3rd.
