It’s time to celebrate the holidays Detroit – and there is no better way to do that then heading downtown this holiday season. We were invited down to the GMRenCen to experience their Holiday Headquarters, a pop-up shop event full of local vendors and even an opportunity to visit Santa. Detroit is full of great local artists and brands, and this is a great daily shop that you can visit to find the perfect gifts for yourself and those on your list.
The Holiday Headquarters is located inside Tower 300 and it’s hard to miss once you find the giant Christmas ornaments. Inside shoppers can find a variety of vendors that feature not only hand made goods, fair trade items, and locally made food items like Germack and Motor City Popcorn. The variety of gift options is great, and it was hard not to spend all of my budget while I was shopping! From hand painted cards to gifts for your pets, you’ll find something for anyone on your list.
But gifts isn’t the only thing you’ll find at the Holiday Headquarters! While you’re shopping in the GMRenCen you can stop in and have your gifts wrapped free of charge, and snag a candy cane while you are at it. Head to the front of the tower where the cars are usually displayed and you can find Santa. Not only will you be able to get a free photo with Santa, but a goody bag and some coupons too. I’m pretty sure Santa already put the bow on my gift and hid it behind his chair – that red Corvette looks awfully pretty to me!
Make a day of it and stop in the Holiday Headquarters at the GMRenCen. With a variety of restaurants, fun shopping, free gift wrapping and visits with Santa – this is a great way to kick off your holiday shopping and season!
