Getting Your first Home loanYour family is growing, you’re moving states or it’s time to get out of that apartment. Whatever your reason is for needing a home loan, getting your first one can be daunting. There are a lot of things to consider, and look at when you’re looking for your first home loan.

Figure Out What Type of Loan You Want and Qualify For

Just looking at the different types of loans out there, there’s are so many options that can be confusing. Do you want an FHA Loan (available for first time buyers), self employed loans (Tampa), or a traditional loan? What does each one offer you as a homeowner, and will you want to work with that company for your loan for the rest of the term of your loan. There are plenty of loan options and you may want to consider making a pros and cons list to see what works best for your life now and into the future.

Remember you can always qualify and get a new loan later, but choosing a loan that works with your life style makes all the difference in your buying process.

Look at Different Owning Options

We’re at a weird point in history where renting an apartment is almost twice the price of a mortgage in some areas. So finding a place within your budget may change depending on what you are looking for. You can get your new home on traditional mortgage where you are paying the bill every month directly to the bank, a rent to own option where your rent goes towards your principal and eventual loan or even on a land contract. Depending on what you’re looking for in your new home, and where you are in your life – these different options may make it easier to figure out what you want to do.

Find the Home of Your Dreams – Within Your Budget

Besides finding the financing that you will need – you need to find out what you want in your new home. How many rooms do you actually need? How much space? How long do you plan to be there? Will your family be growing in this new home or is it just a starter home where you can move later when you need more space? How far is your work from this new place, and how accessible is the highway from there? There is a lot to consider when you are looking for a new home and everything matters.

We’ve found that finding the right home can be stressful but you can find a lot of options online using a search site. Not only can you put in your budget, but the square footage you want, the room requirements and area. It can help you narrow down what you are looking for and finding the right place for you and your future. Keep in mind that it is currently a seller’s market, and those houses online may sell the day they are listed, but keep searching until you find the right place for your family.
