Terminator Dark Fate Review

Just when you think you know everything about the Terminator films, Dark Fate is coming to change that. The story we all know, that Sarah Connor saved billions of people by stopping the Terminator from killing her son. But what if that didn’t happen as we know it? Stepping into the theater watching Terminator Dark Fate, you may wonder how they are actually going to pull of yet another Terminator movie.

Yes, it seems like the Terminator time line has been rebooted once again. But instead of John Connor saving the future, he’s actually killed as a teenager. The future that Sarah had stopped with Skynet is still prevented, but it seems something else insidious has taken it’s place. But with John terminated, Sarah seems to be out of the picture (but not completely).

Instead, the story revolves around a young girl from Mexico City named Dani, who is the target of a new type of Terminator. Not only does a Terminator come through from the future but a protector Grace does as well. Her only goal – to keep Dani alive and to prevent the future from playing out how it did.

Filled with a lot of battle sequences, gun fights and of course Terminator fighting the movie is entertaining. It does take some of the more open story aspects from the previous films and ties them up nicely while leaving the story open for another sequel.

Is Terminator Dark Fate a sequel that fans asked for? Probably not. But it is one that the franchise needed, and may actually breath new life in it with a new cast ready to take the helm.
