Three Things Every Entrepreneur Has in Common

Behind every company is a dreamer, a single person (or a couple in some cases) that have worked to make it come to fruition. An entrepreneur – someone who is driven to make their dreams come true. While we know a lot of the big names like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates etc, there are a lot of others out there. And each and ever entrepreneur has the same things in common.

They Dare To Dream

Yes, every item we use today once was a dream. There are a lot of inventions that came as a spark of genius or years of work and testing. But with each person they also dream about where they want their product or idea to go. Not just what it will physically look like, but also what change it will have on the world. There are so many ways you can change the world around you, but each one begins with a dream.

Have a Mentor

No matter what you want to do, or want to do having a mentor is good business. A mentor can help you through some of the tough parts of starting your own business or creating that invention. They can give you advice they wish they had when they were first starting out, or be a great place to bounce ideas off of when you don’t know where to go to.

A lot of professionals have mentors and people that they look to. For example, Chef and Entrepreneur Bill Bronchick is sharing his knowledge online. Not all mentors have to be in person, and can be someone you can find inspirational online on their blog or may be someone you sometimes email. Mentors and mentee relationships can vary but are very important when you’re first starting out.

Drive to Succeed

Often, even before an entrepreneur has the tools they need they already have that drive to succeed. You have to go past the idea itself and look at the big picture. Where do you want this idea to go? What do you want it to do? Is it simply there to make an income for you, or do you want to make a social change in the world? Do you want to save the planet? Make the next technological advance that will shape the next generation? Whatever has sparked your interest, you have to focus on that and have the drive to make it come to life.

Starting a business on your own isn’t easy, and it’s not for the faint of heart. You will have times that it is hard to see the final outcome, and other times that you want to give up. But with the right amount of drive, direction and dreaming you can make anything happen. No, it’s not always going to be as easy as setting up an idea and it coming to life in front of you, if it was – a lot more people would do it. But dream big, work hard and mentor the next generation of dreams and you will succeed.
