Your favorite blue train is taking a tour around the country and coming to a town near you. Thomas the Train, the iconic figure from the kids television show, is live and in person and is such an amazing adventure.
Here in Detroit, Thomas and some of his closest friends visited Greenfield Village on a chilly, partly rainy weekend. The village was packed with Thomas fans of all ages and it was worth the added crowds and weather to get out and see all the fun adventures.
The whole back end of Greenfield Village was set up for our Day out with Thomas. The whole event was a tribute to Thomas and all his friends that has inspired and showed children how to be kind, brave, and helpful. The event revolved around a passport book that took you to different stations. Each station had a stamp and if you collected all the stamps each child could get a prize, in this case it was a Thomas the Train Book. We met Sir Topham Hatt, visited the gift shop, had photo opps with Thomas himself, and got to see all the toy trains in action.
The highlight of the day was Thomas himself! With our ticket we were able to get a train ride on Thomas and get to see him in action. For our ride we were entertained with live music from our music man in the back of the train and toured Greenfield Village in style. After the ride we were able to see Thomas off for his next trip and it was amazing. The train itself is so lifelike. Thomas’s engine had a moving mouth and eyes and made it feel like you were in the show with him.
My kids loved every part of their day out with Thomas the Train. It was the first time on any type of train for both of them and they were so happy. Thomas was just as friendly as we thought he would be and the whole adventure was a unique opportunity for families. Thomas the Train offers so many life lessons and seeing him in person just solidifies his life lessons. No matter the weather, you should take the time to head out to see Thomas in your area. See all his visits here and plan your fun filled day.
