The Ultimate Spring Travel Packing List

Spring break is often associated with students. However, the Spring is an excellent time for anyone to travel before the summer. This is the ideal time to plan for a family vacation or a trip with your friends. Regardless of the type of vacation, there are many factors that can affect your experience, including what you pack. Unfortunately, packing for a trip isn’t always as easy as it may seem. Read on to learn what to pack for your upcoming spring trip.

Clothes for spring weather

Spring weather can be very unpredictable. Regardless of where you are, you should expect the weather to change constantly. Therefore, when packing, pack several pairs of shorts and a few casual long pants like jeans in case the spring temperatures dip down. Also, pack a few T-shirts, tank tops, and a long-sleeved shirt or sweater. Pack enough underwear for the duration you will be away, and pack one or two outfits for dinners out. During your trip, you will mostly be wearing sandals, so remember to pack a few of them, but also carry a pair of sneakers and a pair of women’s boots to match your dressy outfits. Pack a few pairs of pajamas as well.

Hygiene and other personal items

You want a lightweight travel pack so that you can experience everything during your trip. However, after you’ve checked all the clothes you will need for your trip, remember to pack disinfectants and hand sanitizers, too. You will also need to pack a toiletry kit with a toothbrush, comb, nail clippers, and other grooming supplies that you may need. Remember to carry a backup battery with a good amperage to ensure that your mobile devices have enough juice to take pictures and keep you in touch with your friends and loved ones. You will also be glad that you carried enough cash, rain protection, and communication devices.

Medication

If you’re currently taking any medication, ensure that you get enough supply to last you the whole trip and a few days extra just in case you change your plans. You may want to pack some Advil for overexposure to sun and hangovers. Rehydration sachets can also come in handy and help to ward away headaches throughout your trip. If you’re headed overseas, pack some jet lag relief pills to help cure the effects of jet lag. Additionally, carry a first aid kit with you, just in case an accident happens during your trip.

Technology

If you’re going for a vacation this Spring, you will most likely avoid packing much of your tech devices. However, you will need a phone or tablet and a camera for taking beautiful pictures. Just remember to carry a waterproof camera, especially if you’re planning to take some photos while scuba diving. In case you want to enjoy a quiet and relaxing vacation, consider loading your tablet with movies and TV shows you’ve been planning to watch. If you will still need to get some work done, ensure that you carry your laptop. When visiting another country, you will need a universal power adapter to plug in your electronics.

For the water

If you’re visiting a beach destination, you will most likely spend some time near the water. Therefore, pack two swimsuits, and if you intend to camp out at the beach, carry an extra one so that you always have one ready as the others dry. Additionally, remember to pack a large beach towel and bring cheap sunglasses with you to avoid getting upset if you break or lose them.

Regardless of your skin tone, carry a waterproof sunscreen with an SPF of 15 and above. Although your skin may still tan even after slathering it on several times, it will help prevent skin damage. Bring a canvas beach bag to carry your swimming and camping gear down to the water.

Other essentials

After checking everything you need for your trip, you may also want to carry a journal with you. Even if you’re not the journaling type, you will enjoy documenting your favorite travel moments. Writing your journal will also help you to appreciate your trip.

Also, consider carrying a safety whistle. Carry your whistle with you every time you leave your room, especially when alone. If you find yourself in danger, use the whistle to alert people and get assistance.

Bottom Line

Spring travel can be exciting and a good way to get active after the long winter months. However, you need to be keen when packing, especially when traveling with kids. Just remember to bring a little bit of everything and pack light. You will enjoy your trip without hauling around heavy luggage.
