When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll most likely find me working and watching shows about cooking. Like many people, I love food and love to learn different ways to prepare it. This interest in food and food related shows is part of the reason I wanted to see The Hundred-Foot Journey, besides of course the fantastic cast. Sadly, for me of course, work conflicted with me going to see it in the theaters. But I was excited when Disney sent me a copy to review.
The Hundred-Foot Journey is the story of a batteling French restaurants in southern France. A staple restaurant in Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val is challenged when a young Indian man Hasan Kadam arrives in the area and wants to learn how to cook in the French traditional style. The movie is a mixture of comedy, tragedy and even has a Romeo and Juliet aspect mixed in.
Besides the delicious food, the movie was heart warming and one that will regularly fit into my movie rotation. The Hundred-Foot Journey has a total run time of 122 minutes.
