The Favourite Teaser Trailer is Here and Looks Amazing

What happens when you have a frail queen ruling a country during a time of war and people positioning themselves to get next to her for their own chance at power? The Favourite is a biographical historical film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, from an original screenplay by Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara. The story focuses on the behind-the-scenes politics between two cousins jockeying to be court favorites during the reign of Queen Anne in the early 18th century.

We don’t know much about the movie yet but the teaser trailer released today looks entertaining, and like the movie will be a good time. Check it out below as well as more info on the movie!

The Favourite will be in select theaters November 23rd and released to UK Theaters January 1st 2019.

About The Favourite: 

Early 18th Century. England is at war with the French. Nevertheless, duck racing and pineapple eating are thriving. A frail Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) occupies the throne and her close friend Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) governs the country in her stead while tending to Anne’s ill health and mercurial temper. When a new servant Abigail (Emma Stone) arrives, her charm endears her to Sarah. Sarah takes Abigail under her wing and Abigail sees a chance at a return to her aristocratic roots. As the politics of war befome quite time consuming for Sarah. Abigail steps into the breach to fill in as the Queen’s companion. Their burgeoning friendship gives her a chance to fulfil her ambitions and she will not let woman, man, plitcs or rabbit stand in her way.
