It’s almost here, one of the biggest events in Detroit each year, the North American International Auto Show or NAIAS. Featuring all the latest, greatest and even a few of the bizarre concepts and giving us all a glimpse into the future of the cars we depend on in our daily lives. This year we’re happy to return to NAIAS to check out the latest innovations with A Girl’s Guide to Cars and can’t wait to share it with you!

The automotive world is constantly changing and technology changes in the blink of an eye, but there is still a constant we can all rely on – steel. It’s what cars are built on, and it’s what protects us while we drive. We’ll be learning more about why steel is still a major part of the automotive industry with the Steel Market Development Institute (or SMDI). You can learn more about SMDI at NAIAS and how their work with the automotive industry is integral to the vehicles you drive today. SMDI works to advance the use of steel, especially advanced high strength steel (AHSS), in the highly competitive automotive market through research, advocacy, and industry and government collaboration. With occupant protection, sustainability and innovation as their focus, SMDI is still developing ways that steel can continue to support the automotive industry all while protecting your family.

Ticket Pricing

– Adults: $14 per person
– Seniors: $7 (65 and older)
– Children: $7 (7-12 years old; 6 and under free with a parent or guardian)
PLEASE NOTE: Every child in a school group must have a ticket to enter the show.
