Taco Bake Casserole Recipe
Ever run into the kitchen to make dinner and not know what to make. Or when you figure it out – you’re out of the bulk of the ingredients? That’s what happened tonight, but with a few changes we had a delicious dinner in under an hour with an easy taco bake casserole.

Taco Bake Casserole Recipe

The first thing we didn’t have was taco seasoning – I usually make our own but I was low on chili powder, paprika and was completely out of red pepper flakes! So I remade my recipe before we even started working on the rest of the dish. This seasoning is gluten free and low sodium so feel free to tweak as you need.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Crushed Red Pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp dried Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp sea Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tbsp dried red Jalapenos

Directions:

  1. Add all of your ingredients in a bowl and mix together with a fork.

Now to make dinner!

Taco Bake Casserole Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Taco shells
  • 2 lbs Ground beef
  • 1 24 oz jar of Salsa (spice level of your liking)
  • 1 Tomato, chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 packages of Taco Seasoning, or 1 mix above
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 2 cups Cheese

Directions: 

  1. Prepare a 13 x 9 inch casserole dish, and preheat your oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a skillet brown your burger, and drain off the grease. Add in your salsa and seasoning and bring to a boil.
  3. Crush your taco sells in the bottom of your casserole dish
  4. Add your meat mixture on top and then spread your sour cream on top. Sprinkle with chopped onions and tomatoes. Top with cheese.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until your cheese is melted.
