contigo water bottle reviewAs the days heat up, we all hear that voice in the back of our heads “stay hydrated!” We all have heard that we’re suppose to have 8 glasses of water a day – yes, a half gallon of water to stay healthy. It seems harder than it actually is, and with Contigo’s new Ashland bottle it’s easy to stay hydrated wherever you’re going. They gave me a bottle to help me with my traveling and staying active.

contigo water bottle reviewIn my opinion, Contigo has been winning on the water bottle front for a while now. Not only are they making sure that their bottles are spill proof, and offer a locking lid, but a hygienic autospout that can be stashed away and secured when you’re not drinking. When you close the spout and lock the lid, you can toss the bottle in your purse or bag and take it anywhere with out the fear of it spilling on anything. This makes it extremely easy to pack and plan ahead.

contigo water bottle reviewUnlike several other bottles on the market the Ashland has a straw. Since it has the straw and the autospout, there is no need to tip the bottle to drink it. This is a motion that we’re all use to doing when drinking out of bottles and it may take a few tries before you realize this. If you do happen to tip the bottle and drink out of the autospout it will make a large squeak noise due to the air bubble created.  The first time I did this, it actually startled me. But it doesn’t take long to get use to drinking out of the bottle with the straw.

contigo water bottle reviewThere are several things about the Ashland bottle I really enjoy. First is the bottle actually holds 24 oz of water. So 2 and 2/3 bottles full of water is what you need daily. This is a lot easier for me to keep track of than 8 – 8 oz glasses! It even has the ounces on the side of the bottle making it easy to track.  The Ashland bottle also has a carabiner on the lid, so you can attach it to your bag if you don’t have a place to put it. This makes it extremely to make sure you bring it with you!

But probably one of my favorite features isn’t really a feature at all – instead it’s just part of the design. When the autospout is out and you look down the screws make the design look like a shocked face! It makes me smile whenever I see it, and while it’s silly – it’s just a fun feature I like.

When you’re done hydrating for the day, you can simply unscrew the top, unscrew the straw and place all three parts in the dishwasher on the top shelf. Everything about this water bottle is easy to use and makes staying hydrated easy!

  1. Thank you for the tip! I was making my son tip up his Gizmo. Then I read your article when I googled squeaking. YOU DONT HAVE TO TIP IT UP! It has a straw. I even called customer service who suggested I replace it. Well, jeez. All I had to do was google it and think it thru. Man I felt dumb. Thank you for the article!

    • Maia,

No problem at all! I’ve found lately too if the straw isn’t screwed on super tight it squeaks too 🙂 Glad I could help!!!
