A trip to any conference wouldn’t be complete without playing with new technology. While I was in New York city last weekend I was invited to a Sound Session by Sprint and Mom Central. The focus: the new HTC One M8 and how to get the best sound quality for our mobile music.
Let’s face it, music plays a big roll in our lives. I’m not just talking about the years we all spent in band or choir. But the hours a day we listen to the radio, or mp3s, or even watching the music related shows on our TVs or other devices. Even at work I have the radio going while my students and I are working.
Since we’re always on the go, most of our music has gone mobile. That means we’re listing on our phones or tablet. Some of these devices have decent sound, but since we live our lives on them – shouldn’t they provide even better sound? That is exactly why Sprint was highlighting their excusing HTC One M8 Harman Kardon phone. Paired with Spotify, you’re almost ready for a full sound experience on the go.
The Sprint NYC Sound Session was to introduce myself and others to the new HTC One M8, all of the features and fun that will fit in the palm of your hand. The event was held at the Lambs Club, an elegant Art Deco restaurant a block from Time’s Square. Besides the beautiful venue, we were treated to delicious food and a special treat of a live performance by Grammy Nominated Jermaine Paul – winner of the Voice!
Jermaine Paul sang us three songs, and each was amazing! I can’t wait to download his music on CD Baby and on Spotify to enjoy it later. Check out one of his songs I recorded during the session. It’s not a super quality video and sound, and doesn’t do his voice justice. In person the experience was amazing!
The HTC One M8 Harman Kardon edition phone not only has superior HD sound quality, but will sync with any Blue-tooth, your mobile sharing networks, HTC Mini+ and even NFC. You can easily connect your favorite media player like Spotify and take your sound on the go. You can pair it with the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio speaker for an unparalleled music experience. The sound quality is fantastic, but it isn’t the only thing that the new HTC One M8 does well!
I’ve been playing with my new phone the past few days since I’ve gotten home. Yes, the sound quality is fantastic, but that is only one of the things it does well. Just like it’s little brother, the HTC One, the M8 will populate a news feed directly by your social media networks, you can stay in touch with everyone and everything with a quick glance at your screen. The screen is crystal clear and even all of my apps load faster than my previous phones. The M8 is on an android platform, so it will be easy to use and intuitive for most users. And all of that is good, but none of that is my favorite feature of the phone.
So what is my favorite feature? The photo quality of course! Unlike other phones on the market, the M8 has a dual lens system on the back. This provides clearer photo quality, better depth perception and the ability to change your focus later and even do great art effects. It allows you the ability to do full panoramic, take low level light shots and even add a frame to your shot. And for the selfie lover, there is a higher resolution front facing camera and Selfie mode for you to take your own pictures easier!
Overall I really enjoy the HTC One M8 – I haven’t found a problem with it yet and can’t wait to play with it. It’s great to play music to during class and while I’m working. It has been one of my favorite devices so far, and I would love to pair it with the Onyx speaker system for a real awesome sound experience!
