For the longest time, our clothing has been an expression of who we are and what we stand for. From t-shirts with political slogans or even goofy sayings. But in the past couple years, I’ve seen a rise of shirts that not only offer inspirational sayings, but ones that are genuinely nice and spread joy. One company that is providing great inspirational shifts, faith based and even cute family themes is The Talking Shirt. Each shirt has a message, a meaning and even better – they’re all positive!
The Talking Shirt started when they found a need for positive shirts for both children and adults, and this is woven into every item they sell on their site. They sent me one of their T-shirts to check out, and the first that that struck me was the material they use. It’s so soft! The Cultivate Kindness shirt is more like a 3/4 sleeve instead of a traditional T-shirt. I was excited to get the shirt and ready to try it, but there is only one issue I have with the shirt – the shoulders are cut a bit too low, so when I wear the shirt the lines are part way down my arms rather than at the shoulder where I think they should be. Despite this, the shirt is extremely comfortable and great for everyday wear. The longer length sleeves make it so I’ll probably only wear this in the fall and on cooler days as well.
While I’m not 100% a fan of the cut of the shirt, I do love the message and the mission of the company. Overall we should have more positivity in our lives, and need to spread kindness. While the faith based shirt lines do not personally appeal to me, I’m happy The Talking Shirt also offers ones that are filled with positive messages or family based options.
