Some of the best music came from the 60’s and the hits from that time are still some of the most iconic songs that we know and sing along with today. Sony Legacy has been releasing some of the classic bands and some previously unreleased collections just in time for the holiday season. One of the collections is a four disc collection from Sly and the Family Stone and their performance at the Fillmore East in New York in the fall of 1968.
We were sent a copy of Sly and the Family Stone Live at the Fillmore East to check out. The four disc debut release of previously unreleased live sets recorded at legendary venue Fillmore East. Each disc features a full live performance from the four early and late shows on October 4th and 5th, 1968. Features high-energy versions of “Dance To The Music,” “Life” and “M’Lady.”
The recently released collection will transport you back to the live performances in 1986 with two shows a day (one early and one late) and is a great addition to any classic music collection. All of the songs are recorded with the intention of releasing an album after the weekend performance, but it had been shelved until this release this fall. You can now get all four live performances of Sly and the Family Stone Live at the Fillmore East on CD on Amazon or at retailers near you.
