Sherlock Gnomes review

Fans fell in love with Gnomeo and Juliet when Disney tackled a bit of Shakespeare in a kid friendly format. The love story of the star crossed lovers brought the Montagues and Capulets to feuding neighbors and their garden art that come to life as soon as humans are not around. Much like in Toy Story the inanimate objects are actually alive and have the world of their own, and even maintaining the yard completely for their human counterparts (where do we sign up for this service?)

Sherlock Gnomes reviewIn the sequel Sherlock Gnomes, Paramount now has the reigns and takes the characters fans love to a new garden in the heart of London. Shortly after they arrive the garden Gnomes and artwork are kidnapped. This sends both Gnomeo and Juliet on a quest to save their friends and family, and they do it with the help of Sherlock Gnomes. Much like the original movie there is a bit of literary license with the stories from Sherlock Holmes, but there are enough references that parents will enjoy the movie and story over all.

Sherlock Gnomes does switch a bit form 3D animation to 2D Animation style which can be fun for viewers. The story is entertaining and doesn’t contain any scary parts that kids will have a problem with even the new bad guy is entertaining in his own way.

Sherlock Gnomes is in theaters everywhere today!
