Today is officially the first day of my Shaklee 180 journey. It’s exciting, it’s scary and let’s face it – it’s a lot of change! I faced a couple of my biggest challenges today alone, the first: Breakfast. I’ve never been a breakfast person! Eating early in the day hurts my stomach and makes me feel heavy all day. But for the next 6 months, I’ll be required to eat breakfast with the program – that should break me of my bad habit right?

The second challenge to face – posting pictures of me! I’m not kidding, I’d rather be behind the camera. I know they’re not the best shots of me, and I’m half laughing in this one because Jason decided to crack jokes while he was taking the pictures this morning.

I’ll be honest – I don’t like to post pictures of me because I don’t like how my body looks. I need to lose more weight. I will say though, I am down almost 50 lbs since last year so I’m not as concerned as I was before – but I’m far from happy with my overall body appearance. That being said – in 6 months I will have a different attitude about that and my body. There isn’t a “I hope statement” attached to that because it’s going to be the reality not just a hope and dream.

Getting ready for today I did things I haven’t done, or wanted to do in a while. Including working out again – I’m not a runner, not a weight lifter or any high impact work out types. I’m a low-impact girl – give me yoga and some meditation and I’m happy. I’ve been doing at least 30 minutes of yoga 5 days a week, and while it doesn’t show, I can already tell when it comes to mobility and strength. The workouts are easier, my bad knee hurts less – and the days I don’t do it my back tells me!

I also got a couple things we haven’t had in the house in a while including a scale (they had been long banned from the house) and a pretty new blender – Red of course! Both will be needed on this journey and will be used constantly.

To keep myself on track I’ll be posting a weekday work out check-in on the facebook page. Feel free to join in and work out too! I’m excited to be one of the 90 bloggers selected for this round and can’t wait to get to a healthier weight overall!

This is a sponsored post as part of the Shaklee Corporation blogger program. I have received free products, online support and incentives for participating. My opinions are my own.

People following the weight-loss portion of the Shaklee 180 Program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.

  1. oh my goodness, I HAVE to eat breakfast!
I don’t like posting pictures of myself either, but by putting it all out there – it will help you stay on the right track! I know you can do this! YAY! *o/*

  2. You’re off to a great start! Breakfast really is so important – and yet I find myself skipping it on the weekends, or only having coffee. Bad, bad girl! 😉 I can’t wait to see how you progress as the weeks pass.

  3. I hate high impact exercising too! But you know what? I’ve been doing half run half walks and I feel awesome with it! It’s so strange to wake up in the AM and go running… b/c I’m a super lazy person /giggle But I do LOVE yoga!! I should add that to my routine mid day when the kiddos are napping!
