I don’t care what else is on the plate at dinner time – but at least half of the plate had better be salad. As a child I could have lived on ranch dressing, but as I got older I started to love vinaigrette and Cesar dressing. What I didn’t know was how easy it actually is to make your own dressing.
For years I actually made the occasional vinaigrette by pouring the items in a bowl and mixing it together with the salad items or just in a bowl quickly. But that just creates enough for one salad and messes up an extra bowl. Trudeau sent me one of their Perfect Dressing Mixer Bottles. The 12 oz bottle comes with a dripless plastic top, as soon as you stop pouring – the drips stop falling as well. And the bottom of the bottle is glass and has three custom dressing recipes printed on the side. The glass bottle means the flavors of your vinaigrette wont leach into the side and you can use it over and over. The recipes included on the bottle are dijon vinaigrette, caesar salad dressing and oriental vinaigrette – but I wanted something a little different and created my own Italian dressing (recipe below).
The large size of the Perfect Dressing Mixer Bottle makes it so I can make a larger batch and keep it on hand so we can have delicious homemade dressing at home. And making homemade vinaigrettes keep the cream dressings that are so fattening out of the shelf in the fridge. You can find Trudeau’s Perfect Dressing Mixer Bottle on Amazon or on Trudeau’s Website.
