It’s time to join your favorite lombax and his glitch robot friend and they set off to save the universe. That’s right, Ratchet & Clank is officially in theaters today, and will have you laughing along to the movie. We were invited to check out Ratchet & Clank last weekend before it hit the big screen.
Ratchet & Clank is based on the popular PlayStation game, with the lovable lombax Ratchet who was abandoned as a young child and his friend Clank, a small robot with a child like innocence mixed with a vast knowledge. I’ve never had a PlayStation gaming system, so I have never actually played the game, but the movie previews looked fun and adorable. Ratchet has dreams of becoming the newest member of the Galactic Rangers, but the team doesn’t feel he’s a good fit. But when Chairman Drek threatens his own planet, Ratchet and Clank save the day and show that even the smallest characters can be heroes too.
Overall Ratchet & Clank was a cute and fun movie. There are parts and lines that are written directly for the parents and older gamers who watch the movie. It’s a great movie for your kids, and is one that the parents will genuinely enjoy as well. It’s the classic good versus evil story line, but adds in a heart warming journey as the hero finds out who he is and how important friendship is. We really enjoyed the movie and there are some great one liners that probably will be repeated here for years to come. Ratchet & Clank is rated PG, due to only what I can assume is the use of weapons. The movie is great for children of all ages, and I even had a friend bring her three year old for his first movie.
Ratchet & Clank is now in theaters nation wise. Check out the official trailer below and check the Ratchet & Clank website for more information!
