ta da over-sink drying rack review

When we first moved into this house, I was thrilled that my counter spaced doubled. Imagine what you could do with twice the counter space you had! But then came the holidays, and I realized – it still wasn’t enough. With all of the baking I do, the dishes that can’t go in the dishwasher and dinner each night – I’m struggling for counter space every day. But then I was sent a ta da Over-The-Sink Silicone Roll Drying Mat – I started to get some of my much needed space back.

ta da over-sink drying rack reviewThe ta da Over-The-Sink Silicone Roll Drying Mat is actually a large 21″ x 14.5″ silicone mat with areas for the water to drain directly back into the sink. At first, I feared it wouldn’t be sturdy enough to hold items without collapsing into the sink. But the ta da drying mat has thicker ribs inside that help support bulkier items, and the edges fit well over the edges of the sink to support the whole mat.

ta da over-sink drying rack reviewI’ve been looking for the perfect drying mat to use with my granite counter tops. I don’t want water on the counter and breaking down the seal, and I want to have something that could easily be put away. The ta da Over-The-Sink Silicone Roll Drying Mat not only took the granite counter top issue off the table, but gave me back much desired counter space. When things are drying on the drying mat, there is still plenty of room in the sink to stack things if you need it, or to soak other items. And since the drying mat only takes up a portion of the sink – it can be over the top and I can wash dishes in the open side and stack things on the mat. I did notice that if you’re not careful, and the faucet hits the drying mat, it can turn the mat into a channel and you’ll have a stream of water coming at you. But that has been the only issue I’ve noticed since using the mat. When I’m in between loads of dishes, I simply roll it up and leave it on the far side of the sink.

ta da over-sink drying rack reviewThe ta da Over-The-Sink Silicone Roll Drying Mat not only solved the majority of my kitchen problems when it comes to the few dishes I have to do by hand, but is actually multi-purpose. Not only can you use the ta da Over-The-Sink Silicone Roll Drying Mat for dishes, but it is heat safe up to 475 degrees so you can use it as a large trivet. Because of how it sits on the sink, you could use the ta da as additional kitchen counter space if you’re out with your holiday baking. And when you’re done, or your drying mat gets gross – toss it in the dishwasher for a quick and easy clean up.

  1. I love the fact that my counters will be clean and not cluttered,,my dish washer broke so i have to do them by hand and hate having them on the counter to dry

  2. My kitchen is so small that one of my biggest problem also is there is just no room to do much. I even just recently bought a smaller strainer that I found on clearance for 1.00 to have an extra place to dry all my pots and pans.

  3. My biggest struggle in the kitchen is having enough space on my countertops for my kitchen gadgets/ appliances, while still having enough counter space to work in the kitchen!
