Salisbury Steak Recipe + Little Soya Gluten Free Soy Sauce Review!

Salisbury Steak Recipe
Since I’ve been gluten free some recipes have seemed off limits. Some meals that I use to previously enjoy also seemed off the table. That includes Salisbury steak. No, I’m not talking the slime that we were fed in school – but made from scratch. It’s one of those meals that fills you up and makes you crave more!

I found several different recipes online when I decided to make this today. There wasn’t one that had every ingredient I wanted to use or were gluten free. So I mashed up what I found, change it to my liking and the results were fantastic!

Little Soya Soy Sauce

Part of the reason I wanted to make it was I was suppose to be using Little Soya Gluten Free Soy Sauce. I know – the idea of soy sauce in Salisbury steak seems a bit odd – but I think it’s what made this recipe successful. I’m not a fan of soy sauce on it’s own – or it just used as a topping. However I love to cook with it, to use it in sauces and gravies. It adds a complexity to the sauces that makes it fantastic.

Besides being gluten free Little Soya’s soy sauce is also low sodium. I love that it comes in the little portable fish – you can take it on the go with you to add to your own meals. Most restaurants do not have gluten free soy sauce on hand. But the real reason I like the fish? Each fish contains 1 serving, or about 1 tablespoon – perfect for recipes! It makes measuring in a hurry quick and easy.

I’ve used the Little Soya Gluten Free Soy Sauce in my chicken brine and now in Salisbury steak. It only enhances the flavor of each recipe. And as I add it in I smell the almost caramel tones that will soon be added.

Dinner was fantastic tonight – Let me know if you end up making this recipe and if you like it! As always I write the recipe gluten free, but it can be made “gluten full” with the noted changes below.
