Root Beer Float Popsicles

As a kid I always loved when we went out to get root beer floats. They were almost as good as when our Grandma made them for us. They are creamy and rich and delicious.

The nearest A&W is over a half hour away from where I live now, so logistically it isn’t convenient to get one of those delicious floats. Yes, we can always make them at home, but why not have some waiting on hand.

I made some fantastic Root Beer Float popsicles – super easy and you can run to the freezer for a float whenever you want it! Make it with homemade ice cream for added deliciousness!

Ingredients:

  • Rootbeer – your favorite kind! I picked up a 2 liter of A&W, you will only need a cup of it, but you can enjoy the rest
  • Vanilla Ice cream – store bought or homemade

Directions:

  1. Pour at least 8 ounces of root beer into a container with a pouring spout. Put it in the freezer for 10-20 minutes until well chilled.
  2. Pour some of your chilled root beer into the bottom 1/4th of your popsicle mold.
  3. Put in a spoonful of ice cream, you may need to push it into the root beer.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until your molds are full.
  5. Insert your handles.
  6. Freeze overnight

Your Popsicles may rise out of the molds as they freeze, but remove easily and taste great!
