It’s February and love is in the air! Everywhere displays are popping up reminding you to express your love this Valentine’s Day. As most people know, I LOVE things that sparkle and shine. So this year I made some rhinestone bedazzled letters to decorate my house!
What you need:
- Wooden letters in your choice of size and font (Mine came all in a package together)
- Jewels/Rhinestones in various sizes and colors
- Modge Podge (nectar of the craft gods!)
- Paint brush
- Spray paint in your choice of color
First you’re going to spray paint your letters in the color of your choice. Always make sure you use spray paint in a well ventilated area and follow the directions on the can. I was able to cover my letters in one coat of paint; however you can always use a primer first or do a second coat to achieve the coverage you desire.
Once your letters are dry and able to be handled, you’re ready to get to business! Cover small sections of your letter with modge podge using your paint brush. Then begin placing your jewels as you desire. You may want to use tweezers to help you place your jewels on the letters as you go to help keep your hands from becoming a sticky mess. Continue gluing your jewels on in small sections until your entire letter is covered. Then move on to your next one.
After you’ve finished covering all of your letters, let them dry overnight. In the morning you can stand them up and display your handiwork! If you want to do a similar project, but perhaps not a Valentine’s related word you can always do a kid’s name and display it in their bedroom.
This decoration is sure to catch anyone’s eye with all the sparkle and shine!
