puppy chow recipeI recently heard that Puppy Chow is actually considered a Midwest thing – but growing up here, I just thought it was part of childhood. The best thing is it’s extremely quick and easy to make, and the Puppy Chow recipe only has 4 ingredients. Sure it’s a bit messy to eat, but it’s so good – you wont mind licking your fingers afterwards.

puppy chow recipeIt only takes a total of 10 minutes to make Puppy Chow, and you can eat it almost immediately afterwards. Since it is a super quick snack, I find it easier to have everything measured out and ready to go before you even start! One recipe will make a huge plastic container full of snacks, so pop in your favorite movie and share with your friends and family!

Ingredients:

  • 9 cups Rice Square cereal, Chex Gluten Free works great!
  • 1 cup Peanut Butter of Choice
  • 2 cups Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar

Directions: 

  1. In a small sauce pan, mix together your chocolate chips and peanut butter. Heat over low heat stirring continuously until smooth and combined.
  2. Pour your hot chocolate mixture over your cereal in a large bowl. Mix together until your cereal is well coated.
  3. In a large zip top bag, pour in your powdered sugar, spoon in your warm coated cereal and shake the bag until your cereal is coated with powder sugar.
  4. Pour into a large resealable container and allow to cool completely (about 5 minutes). Enjoy and keep sealed between snack sessions.
