There were a lot of great shows we watched growing up, but my sister and I loved Pee-wee’s Playhouse! It’s one of those shows that we loved, and I’m sure my parents would have preferred we found something else. The show was loud, full of color, screaming and everything that kids love to this day. And that’s probably why Pee-wee’s Playhouse has actually achieved cult classic status. For those reasons, that’s why Shout Factory is releasing the complete series on Blu-Ray!
We were sent a copy of the new collection (Available October 21st) to review. The eight disc set has all five seasons of Pee-wee’s Playhouse, including all 45 original episodes and the Pee-wee’s Playhouse Christmas Special, for over 18 hours of fun!
All of the original episodes have been digitally remastered, and the collection has interviews with the cast and crew. It’s a great collection for kids of the 80’s who grew up loving Pee-wee’s Playhouse and Pee-wee Herman. It was great reliving the episodes and seeing them through the eyes of an adult, instead of as a kid. They’re still loud, fun and full of color and goofy antics – everything I remembered!
