Origami Owl Medium Locket Review & Giveaway

Origami Owl Necklace

Years ago I was given a necklace for a gift, and wore it daily – for years. Last winter it was lost…my heart was broken. That necklace had become almost a part of me like a limb, I wore it daily with everything. I’ve searched for a new every day necklace for over a year, while holding out hope the other would appear someday.

A couple weeks ago I was sent a new necklace that has already replaced my missing one as an everyday necklace. It is a medium locket from Origami Owl with four charms inside.

Origami Owl

The medium locket is on silver ball station chain which is light and not imposing. Both are silver which is fantastic since I’ve never been a fan of yellow gold. The locket itself is a bit heavier than I expected but it doesn’t feel like it weighs you down.

I was able to choose four charms I wanted to go inside. That’s part of the fun of Origami Owl – you get to make the design completely your own! I chose a camera, a chef hat that said “I love to cook”, a Buddha, and a little disc that says Karma. Each one represents something I like, I believe in or something that interests me. They also have birth stones, charms you can get to represent your children and the ways you live your life.

The locket itself has a small hinge on the side and a small indentation on the other side to open it with your nail. Both sides are clear glass and your charms go inside. When the locket is closed it is securely closed with a magnetic backing the frame. I like that the metal frame with the glass inset pieces remind me of almost a steampunk feel but a bit more elegant.

My Origami Owl locket is now my every day necklace, and like my old one it’s something that I’ve noticed babies grab onto and it mesmerizes them. I love that if I want to I can always change the style by updating the charms inside. It can change with my mood or different stages of my life.

Each Origami Owl locket comes with in an adorable take out food box, and it came with a fortune cookie shaped clasp box to keep it or the charms when you’re not using it. The packaging was as adorable as the necklace.
