Hulu’s new series Only Murders in the Building seems to be taking everything we love and putting it into one series. Comedy, murder mysteries, true-crime podcasts and a twist of dark humor. The series is set to drop the first three episodes on Hulu next week with the remaining five episodes coming out weekly. It follows three neighbors who are as almost as mismatched as friends as the Odd Couple as they try to solve a murder that happened in their New York City apartment building. Finding out that they’re all fans of the same true-crime podcast bonds them together – but will the investigation tear them apart?
If you are a fan of MFM or any of the countless other true-crime podcasts out there, you’re going to absolutely love Only Murders in the Building. Their love for podcasts is not only on display as they try to figure out what happened that night, but they launch their own and get their own fans following the story as it unfolds. The series takes you along the way as they try to find out who did it, and get deeper into the investigation than they ever thought they would.
With misdirection, comedy, and a little bit of blood – Only Murders in the Building is a series that will have you wanting more after each episode. And while the main cast might seem like it’s a weird combination, the comedic timing and weird behaviors each brings to their character is well suited for the goofy trio. Be on the lookout for red herrings and other clues as you watch the show – will you be able to solve the crime before they do?
Only Murders in the Building premieres on Hulu with the first three episodes on Tuesday, August 31. New episodes stream weekly. While you’re going to want to binge-watch all eight episodes in one sitting like we did, the payoff will be worth the wait!
