Are you a Muppet fan? We are huge Muppet fans in our house. I grew up watching the Muppet show, probably re-runs most of the time, and even Muppet Babies. But one of my favorite things is still the Muppet movies. I don’t care how many versions of A Christmas Carol there are, The Muppet’s Christmas Carol is one of my favorites.
So when I heard that they’re going to release a special Of Pirates & Pigs Collection on Blu-Ray and DVD I was excited. Disney sent me a copy of the collection to review, and it proves to be a collection of some of our favorite Muppet Movies all in one set. The Of Pirates & Pigs Blu-Ray collection includes both Disney’s Muppet Treasure Island and The Great Muppet Caper.
In Muppet Treasure Island (released in 1996) you get to travel the high seas with Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie and their friends. They have to solve a mystery while battling pirates and searching for treasure. Based on the Robert Lewis Stevenson story Treasure Island the Muppets bring their unique spin on the story and make it fun for all ages.
The Great Muppet Caper is a movie from my childhood, first released in 1981. Kermit and Fozzie are on the case of a jewelry thief in London. While on the case, Kermie meets and falls for Miss Piggy. Everything is going well until more jewels are missing and Piggy is framed for it!
Both movies are great fun for the family and bring true Muppet movie spirit to your screen. The Of Pirates and Pigs Collection will be available on Amazon on December 10th, or can be pre-ordered now. This is a great collection for any Muppet fan in your family.
