When you see the name Clive Barker attached to a movie, you don’t usually think that the movie will be kid or family friendly. But his newest story coming to theaters and digital soon, Night of the Zoopocalypse is something that the whole family can enjoy together. Yes, the man behind Hellraiser and Candyman, now has a kid friendly scary movie – and scary is a term used very loosely here.
Night Of The Zoopocalypse follows Gracie (Gabbi Kosmidis) a young wolf who is just trying to find her way in her pack, suddenly tossed into a leadership role after she discovers a glowing purple pod creature. As chaos takes over the zoo, Gracie has to partner up with a mountain lion, a lemur, an ostrich and a pigmy hippo to save the zoo from the invading creatures. Working together they not only have to work with different specifies they’d never come in contact with but also end up finding unlikely friendship and a pack of their own.
The characters are cute, and although there are some conflicts that happen in the show, nothing is too scary or anything that will upset younger viewers. The creatures are creepy but lean towards the cute side so they’re almost the perfect balance for kids and adults alike. And while there are a couple parts that the language may get pretty close to being problematic, there isn’t any swearing or anything that parents have to worry about in the movie overall.

Honestly, there will be a niche market for this movie and it may have been a better served with a fall release for younger audiences. But over all Night Of The Zoopocalypse is still a fun movie and kids are going to love it. And without any major problematic themes in the film, parents wont mind if their kids have it on repeat.
Night Of The Zoopocalypse is coming to theaters on March 7, 2025 from Viva Pictures.
