As a child, what we can do with our lives is limitless! I know I wanted to be an astronaut, a ballerina and even a teacher. But as we get older we’re pushed a certain way and may think that we have to do certain things because of who we are. But what kids aren’t often told is despite what society tells them, they can still do whatever they want when they get older! That is the main idea in the story of Nickerbacher The Funniest Dragon, a book by Terry John Barto.
Nickerbacher The Funniest Dragon combines two things that Goonie loves the most – comedy and dragons! The book was fun for us to review because Nickerbacher is such a fun character. Well drawn, expressive and easily relate-able for kids, the story revolves around a dragon who is breaking all of the previous ideas of what a dragon should be. Dragons don’t all have to be scary and mean – instead, they can be funny and even have their own stand up comedy show!
We loved the fun and heart warming story, and the message behind it. We also how fun the pages are illustrated. The bright colors and expressive characters add to the charm of the book. This is a great story on you can achieve and be whatever you want to be! Nickerbacher will quickly become a favorite!
