With the world changing so much around us, sometimes it’s hard to find a way to make a change in our communities. Sometimes it doesn’t seem like anything we can do can be enough. But in their new Docuseries Impact, National Geographic – with the help from Gal Gadot, is highlighting women that are making a positive impact and different within their own community for other women and the people around them.
From Olympic skaters helping teach young girls confidence in Detroit by learning to skate, to women helping others build and create homes for women who need them the stories of the six women featured in Impact range greatly. But what they all have in common – the desire to help their community and others thrive in this world around us.
Technically speaking, to highlight six women and their stories should take hours. But National Geographic highlights each and every one in a short 10-12 minute spot. This upper level coverage just gives viewers enough information to highlight the positive changes these women are making, as well as ways they can become involved. It cuts out the chance for any changing of narrative and focuses on what needs to be focused on. Each story is well told, the problem highlighted and what solutions have been made shown as well.
If anything, Impact is a great focus on the good in humanity and what these six strong women are doing to change it for the positive. With a runtime of only about an hour and a half, Impact with Gal Gadot is an interesting look at what good one person can do for their community and may just inspire you to do the same.
