Nanoblock Asian Giant Hornet
I consider myself a pretty spatially minded person. I can look at something and see how it it put together. Part of that is from going to school for interior design for years, but also I grew up playing with blocks and building things. But when Nanoblock sent me one of their sets to review, it was a bit harder than I thought it would be.

Nanoblock set me their Asian Giant Hornet set to assemble, which is four out of five blocks on their difficulty level. The set is for ages 8 and older, because the blocks are so tiny. Nano technically means one billionth, and these blocks are named perfectly. The smallest blocks are only 4x4x5 mm – and way too small for little kids. But for us bigger kids, its a lot of fun and can be a little difficult to put together despite the instructions.

When I say the set was difficult to put together, it wasn’t exactly because the set was a 4 out of 5 difficulty. Part of the problem was my co-worker kept trying to steal the pieces so he could assemble it, since I apparently wasn’t moving fast enough for him. Another reason it took me longer to assemble was I kept getting distracted while doing it. If you’re going to put the set together be sure you do it with little interruptions.

But when I finally finished the set it was a nice sense of accomplishment! Not only did it actually look like an Asian Giant Hornet, but it also was really neat. The completed hornet will end up on my shelves in my office near my other block creations. It’s an awesome set and great for people who love building things.
