What is the first thing most people associate with Kansas City? For me it usually means a visit to the Jazz District and a favorite Barbecue place or two. But this weekend, the city is coming alive with the sound of a roaring engine and we’re excited to share this with our readers. Not only can you experience the show yourself but you can see all of the great new vehicles from your favorite manufacturers, get in the cars and check them out on drive experiences and of course – spend some time in the area around the show. There are live band performances, super heroes and special sections for the kids to enjoy! It’s time to start planning your trip to the Kansas City Auto Show this weekend!

What is there to do at the Kansas City Auto Show?

Kids Corner:

Paradise Park, Kansas City’s premier family destination, and the Kansas City Auto Show have joined forces to bring you fun-filled excitement for the whole family. Play darts on a giant dart board, jump in bounce houses and race pedal cars around a track.  Or challenge your kids to heart-pumping time trial races. And the fun doesn’t stop there! Kids can also create their own yummy snack, make crafts and more.

Paradise Park will be open:
Friday, March 2nd from 4 PM – 9 PM
Saturday, March 3rd from 11 AM – 9 PM
Sunday, March 4th from 11 AM – 4 PM

Live Music:

Two music legends, one country and the other classic rock, will take the stage at the KC Auto Show on Opening Night Wednesday, February 28. Country balladeer John Michael Montgomery and rock legend Blue Oyster Cult will come together for one night only for a special concert to benefit the Automobile Dealers of Greater Kansas City Charitable Foundation.

The concert opens at 7 p.m. with John Michael Montgomery’s unique brand of heartfelt music which resonates across the pop-country landscape.

Blue Öyster Cult (BOC) has been thrilling fans of intelligent hard rock worldwide with powerful albums loaded with classic songs like the pummeling “Godzilla” and the hypnotically melodic “Burnin’ for You”. The Saturday Night Live “More Cowbell” parody of BOC’s “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” has become a cult classic. BOC takes the stage at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $50 for General Admission seating (accompanied by a wristband from the box office) and are available through Ticketmaster and the Bartle Hall box office. The “benefit” ticket also allows the ticketholder to return to the Auto Show through the weekend.  Adult admission Auto Show tickets are also available for $11, PLUS you can still hear the concert from standing room only areas.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and concert-goers have full-access to the Kansas City Auto Show including hundreds of new vehicles, Ride N’ Drives, food trucks and a beer garden.
