For the 26th year, Motor City Comic Con returned to the Suburban Collection Showplace Place in Novi. Like previous years, the event drew thousands of fans from around the state and beyond. Motor City Comic Con welcomes celebrities from pop culture classics as well as current movies and show, as well as comic artists, and vendors.
While the event seems to cater to adults, Comic Con is family friendly and you will find even the youngest of fans in full costumes enjoying the event. The three day long event includes panel discussions, shopping and even film viewing. You can meet your favorite actor and even get a photo with them. But no matter what draws you to Comic Con, be ready to be patient. Every part of the event will include crowds, lines and probably a good deal of waiting.
For us, one of the best parts of Comic Con is people watching. Besides the cost of admission – this is free. Between the varied levels of cosplay, you will find attendees showing their love for various shows in different degrees. It’s great to see fans showing their pride, and being accepted throughout the show.
This year’s Comic Con has a heavy presence of actors from The Walking Dead. They are available to meet as well as participating in panel discussions. Other celebrities featured this year are William Shatner, Ralph Macchio, Lori Petty, Lance Henriksen and many others.
This year there were several great guests to see, but none that we wanted to interview for the site. Now, if we had seen Simon Pegg or Kevin Smith, it may be a different story! This year’s Comic Con was a lot of fun and the event continues through the weekend.
