McFarland, USA – A new Sports Classic

mcfarland usa review

mcfarland usa reviewSports have always been a big draw when it comes to movies, and even more so if it’s based on a true story. And the newest release by Disney fits both of those – McFarland, USA takes a rarely heard from (in the movie front) sport of cross country and turns it into a heartwarming tale. We were sent a Blu-Ray copy of the new movie to enjoy the newest under dog sports movie.

McFarland, USA is based on the story of the cross-country team in McFarland, CA. The team comes from a predominantly Latino school, who are absolute beginners in cross country. But in the team members, their coach (played by Kevin Costner) finds that besides a love for running, their commitments to each other, and family and their work ethic is stronger than any obstacle they will face. The movie is absolutely a feel good movie, even if you’re not a huge sports fan. You get to watch the underdog team grow and achieve even more than they think they could.

McFarland, USA is available at stores near you and on Amazon. It has a total run time of 129 minutes and a PG rating. Bonus Features include:

  • McFarland Reflections
  • “Juntos” Music Video
  • Inspiring McFarland
  • Deleted & Extended Scenes
