M.O.D.O.K review

With the popularity of the MCU and the Avengers series, it’s opened the door for more comic book characters to come to the screen. While Marvel seems to be releasing more of the shorter series and back stories to the screen on Disney+, we’re starting to see even more characters starting to come to Hulu and on other networks. One of these characters, that we most likely will never see on the big screen is M.O.D.O.K, or the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing.

M.O.D.O.K review

M.O.D.O.K isn’t a character we were too familiar with. But when we saw that he was going to be voiced by Patton Oswald, we were instantly on board. And the series is done in the stop motion animation style similar to Robot Chicken. With that in mind, we should have known what we were getting into. Much like Robot Chicken, M.O.D.O.K is not made for younger viewers and has moments of violence and some bloody bits and cursing. The non sequitur comedy that will lead to laughter and some definitely interesting moments.

M.O.D.O.K review

So, M.O.D.O.K isn’t for everyone. But there is definitely an audience for it. Since he’s a character we’re not too familiar with in our home, we’re not sure how close to the comics and stories the show actually is. But we do know it made us laugh.

We will ever see M.O.D.O.K in the MCU or is he just a character that is being tossed in the mix because he’s funny and weird at the same time? We’re not sure, but we do know the first season is now available on Hulu and it is definitely a different take the Marvel comics we’ve seen brought to the screens recently.
