From action movies, to musical biopics, inspirational movies, sci-fi and horror – Lionsgate has a lot of great movies coming to theaters this year! The dates may still change some and more may be added but here’s a sneak peek at movies you’re going to want to check out.
Greenland 2: Migration – Now in Theaters
In the aftermath of a comet strike that decimated most of the earth, GREENLAND 2: MIGRATION follows the Garrity family (Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, and Roman Griffin Davis) as they’re forced to leave the safety of their bunker in Greenland to traverse a shattered world in search of a new home.
The Strangers – Chapter 3 – February 6th
Tethered by a frightening conclusion, Maya and the Strangers are locked on an unavoidable, unforgiving collision course — a showdown that proves they’re far from strangers now. The Strangers: Chapter 3 (2026) is the new horror movie by Renny Harlin, starring Madelaine Petsch, Richard Brake and Rachel Shenton.
I can Only Imagine 2 – February 20th
After the breakout success of the song “I Can Only Imagine,” MercyMe’s Bart Millard (John Michael Finley) is living the dream—sold-out arenas, a devoted fan base, and a thriving career. But behind the spotlight, Bart’s past threatens the family he’s built, especially the fragile bond with his son, Sam (Sammy Dell).
Michael – April 24th
Michael is the cinematic portrayal of the life and legacy of one of the most influential artists the world has ever known.
The film tells the story of Michael Jackson’s life beyond the music, tracing his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the lead of the Jackson Five, to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world.
Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before. This is where his story begins.
Michael stars Jaafar Jackson in his feature film debut, Nia Long (Empire, The Best Man franchise), Laura Harrier (BlacKkKlansman, Spider-Man: Homecoming) and Juliano Krue Valdi (The Loud House, Arco), with Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick, Whiplash) and two-time Academy Award® nominee Colman Domingo (Sing Sing, Rustin).
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the award-winning filmmaker of Training Day, Olympus Has Fallen and The Equalizer franchise, from a screenplay by three-time Academy Award® nominee John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator), the film is produced by Academy Award® winner Graham King (The Departed, Bohemian Rhapsody), John Branca (executive producer This Is It, Thriller 40) and John McClain (executive producer This Is It, Michael Jackson Live at Wembley July 16, 1988).
Power Ballad – June 5th
Get ready for a musical journey with the iconic Paul Rudd and the talented Nick Jonas in the upcoming Lionsgate movie, ‘Power Ballad’. ‘Power Ballad’ tells the story of Rick, a wedding singer whose career is on a downward spiral, and Danny, a former boy-band sensation. When their paths cross, a late-night jam session changes everything. But as Danny’s career soars with Rick’s song, the latter embarks on a quest for the recognition he craves. This feel-good movie explores themes of music, friendship, and the cost of ambition. With a stellar cast and the direction of John Carney, ‘Power Ballad’ is set to hit theaters on June 5, 2026.
Mutiny – August 21st
Mutiny is an upcoming action thriller film directed by Jean-François Richet and written by Lindsay Michel and J. P. Davis. It stars Jason Statham, Annabelle Wallis and Jason Wong.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise of the Reaping – November 20th
THE HUNGER GAMES: SUNRISE ON THE REAPING will revisit the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, starting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.
