Learn More about Bees and Turn This Book Into a Beehive!
Over the past few years we’ve seen a focus on bees and making sure that the different species survive. There are several different species of bees and they are all beneficial to our environment. It’s never too early to introduce children to the world of bees and other pollinators. Since we’re always looking to find new ways to bring more bees to our yard and garden, we are always happy to find kid friendly books about bees as well. We were sent a copy of Turn This Book Into a Beehive! and it was a great introduction book for kids, or even adults who are interested in bees.
Turn This Book Into a Beehive! And 19 Other Experiments and Activities That Explore the Amazing World of Bees by Lynn Brunelle is an interactive introduction to the world of bees through exercises, activities, lively text, and full-color illustrations. The book includes a DIY project that allows young readers to literally turn it into a beehive by removing the cover and select pages.
What do you find inside? Not only instructions to make your own home for turning the book into a carpenter bee home but also ways to make natural bug sprays, natural weed treatments and even ways to encourage more bees into your yard.
The book is a great introduction to bees for kids, adults or anyone who has an interest in bees, pollinators and finding new ways to help the natural world around us.
